LSA is excited to host its first neighborhood event on June 4th, 2016, from noon-4 PM – the Larkin Street and Little Saigon Block Party! The event will take place on Larkin Street between Eddy and Ellis Streets. A family focused event, the Association and local business’ goals are to invigorate the neighborhood. To do this, the Block Party will celebrate the diversity of San Francisco’s Little Saigon and Tenderloin District, connect and empower its residents and business owners, and offer all visitors an experience to enjoy local culture.
Don’t miss out! This year’s June event will bring lots of fun activities and cultural experiences for all. Some of the events and activities planned include: activities for kids and adults like Bahn Mi eating contests, arts and crafts, street games, vegetable racer grand prix competitions for all, live art, personal and neighborhood vision boards and gigantic bubbles! Stages will be available on either end of the block, which will showcase traditional Vietnamese dancers and musicians and DJs spinning family friendly jams curated by local Larkin Street record store. All activities will be representative of the neighborhood’s roots and modernity of the Little Saigon neighborhood. In addition to the activities and performances, there will be many vendors, great food and a beer garden.
With plenty to enjoy, taste and experience, the Little Saigon/Larkin Street Festival will be safe, inclusive and fun for all. Due to a lapse of the annual Tet Festival celebration for the neighborhood, LSA hopes to bring young, old and anyone interested together to enjoy this great day. LSA plans to bring more events to the neighborhood in the future to offer business opportunities and expose a wide range of visitors eager to explore the corridor.
